While riding around in the country to snap some shots, I wondered into Landis NC. About 30 minutes up I-85 between Kannapolis and Salisbury is this small town that makes you think time forgot it. There is a rail line that runs right through the center of town, with a mill (still running) on one side and downtown on the other.
These are a few of the shots (more to come) with a few worked on to make them have a bit more of that old time feeling.
A beautiful small town setting to shoot trains is Landis NC, which is not too far from Concord NC. I hadn’t been out shooting in awhile and the weather on this Sunday was perfect.
NS P99 starts off the afternoon followed up by Amtrak 75, both southbound to Charlotte. NS 119 and 40W round out the afternoon.

Amtrak 75 knocks down signals on its way from Raleigh to Charlotte.
NS 8412 leads NS 40W southbound.
A pair of GE Evolution Series locomotives lead NS 119 Southbound.
An EMD SD60M rounds out the power on NS 199 this afternoon.
